Hybrid workplaces in Diemen, Realised by INTOS

Randstad, one of the largest temporary employment agencies in the Netherlands, wanted to future-proof its 20,000 m2 headquarters in Diemen. The renovated 11-storey Randstad office had to consist of workplaces that optimally facilitated hybrid working. OTH architects made the design and INTOS provided the right separation between various workplaces and meeting rooms.

Assignment: Specially developed partition walls renewed head office layout
Location: Diemen
Design: OTH architects

Customer needs

The existing spaces in the headquarters needed to be transformed into new places to call, work, confer and relax. This as a true complement to the increasing home working hours of employees. To facilitate the different functions of these spaces and ensure the right acoustics, light partition walls were needed between the newly designed workstations and meeting or consultation rooms. These walls had to be installed on a tight schedule and without causing any inconvenience.

Our approach

To ensure that the acoustic value and transparency of the walls to be made could be properly assessed, we first made a mock-up. This allowed us to fine-tune the design with Randstad and OTH. In the end, we developed a version that Randstad was extremely satisfied with. The actual construction of the partitions on site could then begin. Thanks to our tight planning per floor, virtually no inconvenience was caused to the employees present. The completed rooms could be used immediately.

Delivered result

With INTOS' specially developed walls, we were able to create a differentiated work landscape for Randstad that optimally facilitates hybrid working. The new Randstad office increasingly functions as a meeting place where the emphasis is on teamwork, knowledge sharing and communication.

Arjan Andriessen, project director INTOS: "Randstad is extremely happy with the effect of the installed partition walls. The walls provide many extra workplaces without an increase in noise pollution. They clearly create shielded spaces, but do not limit the feeling of spaciousness due to the transparent use of materials."
